I love this so much. So many people outside the church think that Mormons are some kind of sexist cult and I cannot tell you how wrong they are. For those who don’t know, I am a huge feminist and so many people were taken aback by my desire to convert. The funny thing is, not once, since I have been part of this church, have I ever felt singled out or secluded for being a female. We are equals, but like any functioning community, we have different roles. Every person is better at different things. For instance, only men can hold the power of the priesthood, but we as women have the greatest power of all and that is the gift of life. Can men give birth? Nah. But we can and I think so many women forget that when they talk about how only men hold priesthood. Even if you cannot conceive, you have such a special gift and ability to communicate with others that men do not have. I can’t explain it, but women are so magical! Embrace it, sisters! We all have special gifts, don’t forget that.
And a gentle reminder that although women don’t necessarily hold the priesthood, we DO exercise priesthood authority *two thumbs up*
