To be fair, that’s how theaters make their money. They don’t collect any revenue made on the movie tickets.
SO MUCH THIS.
Seriously.

The difference is, the Pixar ones set the tone for the movie. Frozen is supposed to be an epic adventure through a winter landscape…not Ice Age. The other thing is, it’s the VERY first look at a very highly anticipated film…and they show us the comic relief characters instead of the main characters
There’s also the fact that this teaser works for Monsters Inc. because Monsters Inc. is a comedy, most of Pixar’s films have been comedies therefore it makes sense for them to have comedic teasers. When they make trailers for movies where comedy isn’t the focus they make sure to change the mood. Take for example Brave, the teaser for that movie didn’t show the Triplets pulling pranks or the Witch talking with her crow, it mainly showed the landscapes of the movie with a serious narration setting the tone, ending with the main character making a dramatic appearance.
I’m personally going to wait until I see a full trailer before I pass jugement on Frozen, but I will say that I wasn’t impressed with the teaser.
*points* This.
Honestly, it was just a bad marketing move on their part.
THIS however, is a BRILLIANT marketing move, because it sets up the feel of the movie and sets up our main characters wonderfully.
★ Lucy Wilde Appreciation PostI like her already
She looks like a total goober
I like goobers.
… I look at her. And all I can think is that his is exactly how all of Gru’s girls will end up.
Call the Midwife is both fantastic and also horrific to watch.
My maternal instincts cry whenever something goes wrong.
… I need to draw Mericcup of the scene with Amy and Rory
Where she keeps having false alarm contractions
And he has mini-heart attacks.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I’VE JUST DRAWN, BUT.
THERE YOU GO.
Pregnant Merida things—minus the first one, where she’s bringing idiot high schooler Hiccup his lunch—because he is prone to forget it.
…. ANYWAYS.
