She was fading—or was he? She couldn’t tell—everything was growing blurry, she couldn’t focus. Somewhere, she could hear Hiccup desperately begging her to stay with him, his hand gripping to her hair as if trying to keep her with him.
"Merida! Meri, stay with me! Meri, don’t you dare close your eyes, Merida dunBroch—"
She released another gasp of air and her eyes opened to a bright light. The girl blinked several times, turning her head to examine the white vast around her.
It was quiet—until a soft, but powerful voice came up from behind her.
"You must be Merida—you’ve put my son into quite the stir…"
